At Evri, we’re transforming international logistics to create faster, smarter, and more compliant parcel movements across borders. We’re now looking for a Customs Manager to play a central role in leading our Customs Team across the UK and EU, ensuring every declaration is handled with precision, efficiency, and full regulatory compliance. Reporting into the Head of International Logistics, this is a pivotal role within our International division – managing end-to-end customs processes across all modes of import and export (air, sea, road) for both low and high-value goods.
This is a great time to be joining us! You’ll join a forward-thinking logistics leader with a rapidly growing international presence. This is an opportunity to shape and enhance how we manage customs across our operations - improving speed, compliance and customer experience.
Interested? Take a look below to understand what you’ll be doing as Customs Manager:
* Oversee the timely and accurate submission of import and export declarations, ensuring full compliance with HMRC and EU customs regulations.
* Drive improvements in customs clearance and declaration processes, identifying efficiencies and implementing best practice.
* Manage operations in regulated environments, including ETSF, bonded facilities, and Border Force-controlled areas.
* Lead, coach, and develop the customs operations team, building clear career pathways and robust succession plans.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training to ensure capability and resilience across the team.
* Partner closely with logistics, tax, legal, procurement, and the Customs Compliance Manager to ensure smooth integration of customs activities with broader supply chain operations.
* Respond to internal and external customs-related queries, including those from clients and client managers.
* Be accountable for assigned Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) processes and ensure continued compliance.
* Manage audits, maintain customs KPIs, and monitor service and cost controls to support commercial goals.
* Support the implementation of new customs software and ensure the team are trained and equipped to operate efficiently.
Still interested? Great News! We are looking for:
* Degree-level education or equivalent industry experience in customs, logistics, or international trade.
* 5+ years leading a team within a customs clearance or global trade environment.
* In-depth knowledge of the UK and EU customs landscape, including CPCs, tariff codes, permits, restricted goods, and simplified procedures.
* Demonstrated experience managing all modes of transport (air, sea, road) and high- and low-value freight.
* Strong understanding of incoterms, customs documentation processes and customs operating systems.
* A highly organised leader who is capable of coaching, developing, and motivating teams in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and deliver practical solutions.
