Barclays – Technology: Cyber & Security Apprenticeship – Knutsford
The Chief Security Office is responsible for keeping the bank, its clients, customers and colleagues safe. We protect the organisation from external and internal threats and respond to new challenges daily. This role offers opportunities to learn about proactive threat research and reactive incident response, across Cyber & Security teams including Cyber & Physical Security, Resilience, Crisis Management, Security Operations and Intelligence.
Purpose
To support the day-to-day operations of the Chief Security Office, providing insights and expertise that help support the vision and mission of the business area.
Responsibilities
* Collaboration with experts across teams to help reduce risk, protect customers and clients, and provide a world class service for the business.
* Identify opportunities to improve and maximise agility and develop an agile and intelligence-led approach to security delivery.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business projects and initiatives.
* Identify opportunities for improvement and clearly articulate changes to drive positive impact across the function.
* Assist in operational tasks and contribute to security-related activities as part of the apprenticeship.
Analyst/Apprentice Expectations
* Meet the needs of stakeholders and customers through operational excellence and customer service.
* Perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard.
* No people leadership roles at this grade.
* Execute work requirements as identified in processes and procedures, collaborating with and impacting the work of team members.
* Escalate policy breaches where required and take responsibility for customer service and operational execution tasks.
* Manage risk and strengthen controls related to work owned or contributed to, delivering in line with relevant rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
* Understand the role and how the team integrates to achieve objectives, including knowledge of other teams' work within the function.
* Work within defined procedures and demonstrate understanding of procedures.
* Evaluate and select appropriate options and make judgments based on factual information.
* Build relationships with stakeholders and customers to identify and address their needs, handling sensitive issues as required.
Eligibility & Requirements
* 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C (9-5) including Maths and English (or equivalent).
* Commitment and enthusiasm; willingness to work hard, push yourself and think differently.
