The role is primarily based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, with possible work at Bassetlaw Hospital depending on service needs and staffing.
You will join a supportive and well-established team providing videofluoroscopy, FEES, a developing funded Critical Care SLT/AHP team, a funded acute Respiratory SLT service, a bi-monthly Joint Voice Clinic, and SLT-led nasendoscopy biofeedback sessions.
Main duties of the job
You will provide:
* Inpatient and outpatient Head and Neck SLT services in collaboration with the Head and Neck MDT and the regional Head and Neck MDT.
* Outpatient voice assessment, therapy, and management via face-to-face and telehealth methods.
* Inpatient and outpatient tracheostomy management alongside Specialist Respiratory SLTs.
* Inpatient acute ward sessions with the existing Acute Ward Team.
* Supervision and mentoring of Band 5 staff and Support Workers.
Working for our organisation
Our SLT team has received recognition including the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw ICB Quality Improvement Award and the Trustwide Stars Wellbeing Champion Award. We collaborate with the SSNAP A-rated Stroke SLT service, which was selected for the REACT research study. Our team values flexibility, inclusivity, support, evidence-based practice, staff development, research, quality improvement, and leadership training.
Doncaster is well-connected with rapid train links to London, situated near the M18, and close to Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, and the Peak District. We invite you to meet us and see the facilities.
