As a BMS Service Engineer at DAE Energy Solutions, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality support to our expanding portfolio of commercial, industrial, and public-sector clients. You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, optimisation, and fault resolution of Building Management Systems, ensuring that client sites operate efficiently, sustainably, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of BMS systems (Trend, Tridium Niagara, Distech, Schneider, Siemens, and others depending on experience).
* Diagnose, resolve, and report system faults, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
* Optimise system performance through strategy adjustments, software updates, and energy-efficient recommendations.
* Provide remote technical support when required, leveraging our in-house tools and client-facing platform.
* Complete detailed service reports, asset information, and compliance documentation.
* Build strong working relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional customer experience.
* Work collaboratively with our projects, panel manufacturing, and electrical installation teams where cross-discipline support is required.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in BMS service, maintenance, or controls engineering.
* Strong understanding of HVAC plant, control theory, and communication networks (BACnet, Modbus, LON, etc.).
* Ability to read wiring diagrams and control schematics.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, customer-focused approach.
* Manufacturer training or certifications (Trend, Niagara, etc.) are advantageous.
Commissioning Engineer – Job Description
As a BMS Commissioning Engineer, you will take technical ownership of delivering new BMS installations from first fix through to client handover. You will ensure that systems are configured, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards, contributing directly to the success of major construction and retrofit projects across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
* Commission BMS systems across a variety of platforms, configuring hardware, software, I/O points, graphics, and control strategies.
* Perform point-to-point testing, sensor/actuator calibration, and full system functional testing.
* Collaborate closely with project managers, electricians, and panel engineers to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Develop and implement HVAC control strategies aligned with project specifications and industry best practice.
* Produce clear commissioning documentation, O&M info, and client training materials.
* Attend site meetings and contribute technical insight to help drive project success.
* Support system integration with third-party technologies, including energy analytics, metering, and IoT devices.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience commissioning BMS or HVAC control systems on medium to large-scale projects.
* Strong technical understanding of control logic, field devices, and networking protocols.
* Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, and control philosophies.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence working on live construction sites.
* Platform-specific knowledge (Niagara, Trend, Distech, Siemens, etc.) is beneficial.
