Senior Health Advisor
Contract type: 14 months fixed-term contract, Full-time
Location: London, United Kingdom or Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi, Nepal, Pakistan (subject to right to work eligibility in respective countries).
Hybrid working: Minimum 40% face‑to‑face in UK location.

Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and technical advisory support on WASH and health integration, WASH in health care facilities, health systems and programming, public health, environmental health, and related topics (nutrition, cholera, neglected tropical diseases, maternal and child health, infection prevention and control) to ensure high‑quality WASH programming in urban and rural, low‑income settings.
* Provide detailed technical analysis and advisory support for project design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and assessments.
* Co‑lead capturing of organisational programme knowledge and experience on health‑related topics.
* Support country, regional and global colleagues to develop a consistent understanding and application of health‑related technical considerations into WaterAid’s core programme work.
* Support fundraising, external engagement, and communications.
* Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.
Qualifications
* Strong technical experience in WASH and health integration and related topics, demonstrated through a progressive career record.
* Relevant post‑graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
* Experience offering technical assistance, consulting, and/or advisory services to empower and develop capacities.
* Ability to handle highly specialised, challenging technical assignments, resolving complex issues creatively.
* Strong writing ability in English, producing practical knowledge products for diverse audiences.
* Organised and efficient, driving tasks to completion on time with high quality.
* Solid IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office.
* Ability to travel internationally up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications
* Relevant technical experience in systems strengthening, sustainable development, water, sanitation, hygiene, behaviour change, gender, inclusion, environment or other WASH‑related topics.
* Working knowledge of Portuguese.
