As a Senior Engineer, you won't just be joining us during an exciting phase—you'll be at the forefront of transforming and modernising our wastewater networks, from preventing sewer flooding and reducing spills into the river to upgrading a historic network that keeps London flowing.
What you’ll be doing as a Senior Civil Engineer
* Oversee the design development of wastewater network projects by engineers and consultants from initial concept design to contract award.
* Identify, analyse, and mitigate project risks, and realise opportunities to enable scope definition and robust pricing by contractors.
* Ensure detailed design is undertaken by contractors, with design changes made during construction.
* Support Project Teams during commissioning and asset handover.
* Conduct design reviews to ensure solutions are robust and safe, meeting business and operational requirements.
* Act as the key contact for the CDM Designer or Principal Designer role during initial design stages.
* Contribute to and improve Technical Asset Standards.
Hybrid working at Maple Lodge, flexible remote and hybrid options available. The role is 36 hours, Monday to Friday. Candidates must drive and have a car, but applications from non-drivers are welcome.
What you should bring to the role
* A Civil Engineering HNC, degree, or master’s degree.
* Chartered engineer or nearing chartership with a relevant professional organisation.
* Experience in design & rehabilitation of wastewater network projects.
* Understanding of project delivery principles.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety in Construction.
* Understanding of industrial process decisions within engineering.
