Personal Assistant

Purpose of the job
To provide one‑to‑one support and assist with all aspects of personal care, washing, dressing, and meal preparation. The role also includes light household duties, providing safe and encouraging companionship, and helping with community access.
Type of person required
* Patience and a good sense of humour
* Positive, confident and communicative attitude
* Confident car driver with own adapted vehicle (required)
* Fit and healthy to perform manual handling duties
* Desirable: experience or willingness to assist with hair and make‑up
Tasks involved
* Maintain personal safety and security at all times
* Assistance with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
* Light manual handling and mobility support using a ceiling track hoist
* Prepare and cook basic foods; meal prep
* Assist with household chores and organisation
* Provide companionship and participate in social activities
Place of work
In the employee’s home and in the community.
Hours of work
16–20 hours per week with flexible shifts, including days, nights, weekends and overnights.
Rate of pay
£15.90 per hour; £113.40 per overnight (9‑hour shift). Monthly wage paid on receipt of payslip; 5.6 weeks paid holiday pro‑rata.
Qualifications and requirements
* National Insurance number required
* Trial period on first appointment
* DBS check will be required at no expense to the employee
* Employment governed by a third‑party agency; employee will not be employed by the agency.
