If you are passionate about operations and eager to contribute to a company that makes a tangible difference, we want to hear from you.Role Overview: The Operations Manager is responsible for the end-to-end operational performance of Selectamark Security Systems plc, ensuring efficient, compliant and scalable delivery of products and services from the Orpington site. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role plays a pivotal part in operational excellence, cost control, stock management and the maintenance of ISO 9001 quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Operational LeadershipLead and manage all operational activities at the Orpington siteTranslate business strategy into clear operational plans, KPIs and performance measuresDrive continuous improvement across people, processes and systemsManufacturing, Supply Chain, Stock Management & LogisticsOversee production planning, inventory control and stock optimisationMaintain accurate stock records, valuations and reconciliationsEnsure appropriate stock levels to meet demand while minimising obsolescence and working capital exposureImplement and monitor stock control procedures, cycle counts and auditsOversee warehousing, dispatch and distribution activitiesManage supplier relationships, procurement and service-level performanceManage the production teamQuality, Compliance & RiskTake full operational ownership of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvementAct as the senior operational lead for ISO 9001 internal and external audits, including certification and surveillance auditsEnsure all operational processes are documented, controlled and aligned with ISO 9001 requirementsDrive a quality-led culture, embedding “right first time” and corrective/preventive action methodologiesEnsure non-conformances are investigated with root cause analysis and corrective actions implemented and monitoredMaintain effective document control, change management and record-keeping processesEnsure compliance with health & safety legislation and internal governance frameworksIdentify, assess and mitigate operational, quality and supply-chain risksPeople LeadershipLead, motivate and develop on-site operational and production teamsImplement performance management, training and succession planningFoster a positive, accountable and safety-first cultureFinancial & Commercial ManagementManage operational budgets, cost controls and efficiency initiativesMonitor stock-related costs, write-offs and margin impactProvide accurate operational and stock performance reporting to the Managing DirectorWork closely with Finance and Sales to support commercial objectivesSystems & Continuous ImprovementMaximise effective use of inventory management systemsIdentify and implement process improvements, automation and efficienciesLead operational change initiatives to support growth and scalabilitySkills, Knowledge & ExperienceEssentialProven experience in an Operations Manager or senior operations roleStrong background in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain and stock managementDemonstrable experience owning or managing an ISO 9001 Quality Management SystemProven experience leading ISO 9001 audits and working with external auditorsStrong commercial awareness, including cost control and working capital managementExperience operating within regulated or quality-driven environmentsExcellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skillsDesirableExperience within security systems, technology, manufacturing or scientific sectorsKnowledge of additional ISO standardsExperience supporting operational scale and business growthWhat We Offer:Purpose and Values: Alignment with the company’s mission, values, and social impact.
