Hourly Paid Lecturer in Therapeutic Counselling Note: this is an hourly paid contract; days and hours cannot be guaranteed – they are offered on a casual, ad hoc basis to fit the needs of the service and may vary.
We have an exciting opportunity to join Bridgend College as a Lecturer in Therapeutic Counselling.
Responsibilities:
* Support and inspire the next generation of counselling professionals through high-quality teaching, mentorship, and academic guidance.
* Contribute to the delivery of our counselling programmes, including Level 4 and Level 5 Diplomas, ensuring students develop practical skills, theoretical understanding, and self‑awareness needed for professional practice.
* Plan and deliver engaging sessions, assess learner progress, and support individual development in both academic and professional contexts.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Recognised qualification in therapeutic counselling (minimum Level 6) and be a member of a professional body such as BACP, UKCP, National Counselling Society etc.
* Current practice experience; registered/accredited member of a professional body is essential.
* Experience working with young people and/or a PGCE certificate (or willingness to work towards one) is essential.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to a wide and diverse student population.
