Environmental Health and Safety Manager Slough Permanent 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays 9% pension, life assurance Global aerospace business As a Environmental, Health & Safety Manager you will ensure Environmental Health & Safety reporting compliance with regulatory bodies (Environment Agency, Health & Safety Executive). As a member of the internal audit group, the EHS Manager will participate in the development, implementation, and surveillance of the Environmental, Health and Safety Management System. The incumbent will maintain a leadership role in assessing and developing implementation strategies to achieve corporate compliance with emerging regulatory initiatives. Main Responsibilities Work with employees to conduct Internal Audits, First Aid certifications, and other EHS initiatives Ensure that Environmental Health & Safety processes and documentation are established, implemented and maintained Report to the Management Team on the performance of the management systems and identify opportunities for improvement Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers Work with the Management Team to analyse the results of the statistical data collected and recommend appropriate corrective or preventive actions Drive processes to establish skills to ensure incidents are effectively investigated, root cause analysis conducted, corrective actions identified and tracked to completion Liaise with the Management Team to ensure employees are appropriately trained regarding health & safety, and environment issues Coordinate and participate in scheduling all internal audit/inspections relating to management systems to ensure their completion, including summarising audit reports and follow up on any outstanding findings Prepare health and safety strategies and developing internal policies Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be reduced Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented Leading in-house training with managers and employees about environmental, health and safety issues and risks Ensuring the safe installation of equipment, using risk-based management Managing and organising the safe disposal of hazardous substances Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes Effective communication internally and externally.Experience 3 Years’ experience working in Environmental, Health & safety, understanding of the regulations the regulations. Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment Knowledge of working with hazardous chemicals Understanding of policies and procedures; proven ability to communicate and lead and successfully deliver improvement initiatives ISO14001/ISO45001 Experience preferable Auditing internal/External Problem Solving and Root Cause investigation techniques Qualifications: Recognised professional certification for Environmental, Health & Safety (IQA, IOSH, IEMA, NEBOSH) Fire Officer/Fire Safety (Desirable) Risk Assessment (Desirable) Train the Trainer (Desirable) Lead Auditor (Desirable) Internal Auditor (Essential)Benefits: Equipsme - medical expenses insurance scheme providing cover for you.
