The role:

The Primary Care Liaison Worker’s post is part of the “Doing Well” Team.

The “Doing Well” Team is a multi‑disciplinary team, offering assessment and treatment to individuals presenting with depression, anxiety, PTSD – single incident trauma, adjustment disorder, disordered eating and or OCD traits.

The Primary Care Liaison Worker post is classed as that of a clinical specialist and is responsible for the assessment and management of a caseload using evidence based/client‑centred principles. The completion of the 5 areas “spirit” Cognitive behavioural Chris Williams programme is essential for this post along with 5 years’ experience of working within mental health services. Doing well offers guided self‑help and low‑level psychological intervention for service users who are ready to engage in psychological approach. 6‑8 treatment appointments are routinely offered using the 5‑areas approach to guide service users through a recovery programme.

The Primary Care Liaison Worker is closely involved in the development of the service with regards to care pathways and will participate in the on‑going planning, development and evaluation of the service holding responsibility for a caseload and defined projects.


Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

This is a permanent, full‑time post of 36 hours per week.

The role will be based at Mile End Mill.

The shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm (exception of a Friday 9 am to 16.30/16.36 pm).


Key responsibilities:

The main tasks, duties and responsibilities of the post holder will be to provide direct, high quality, face‑to‑face, specialist assessment and treatment for clients in the primary care setting and to provide specialist consultation and advice on the assessment and management of a range of mental health condition.

The post holder will work collaboratively with primary care teams and colleagues to promote and maintain, effective and high‑quality specialist service and will maintain clear and consistent up to date client records within current legal and professional requirements. The post holder will comply with HPC standards of proficiencies, code of ethics, along with national and local policies and procedures and adhere to the NMC code of professional conduct.
