Long Term Futures has a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Kingston. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for a dedicated individual who can guide and empower children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

You will be a key part of a team committed to pupils' holistic development and emotional wellbeing. The school is rated "Good" and provides a supportive environment where you can build lasting relationships and become a consistent pillar of support. This position also offers a clear pathway to a permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities

Implementing tailored support programmes to help children develop emotional regulation and positive social skills.

Providing one-on-one or small group support for pupils who require targeted intervention.

Acting as a positive role model by building strong, trusting connections with pupils.

Collaborating with teachers, the SENCo, and pastoral staff to ensure a unified approach to pupil wellbeing.

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children or young people, specifically those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

A good understanding of factors that influence emotional wellbeing and a range of positive intervention methods.

Proficiency in de-escalation techniques, with relevant certifications (Team Teach, MAPA) being a distinct advantage.
