Purpose: One of the core strategic pillars in APMT’s strategy is operational excellence: "This is our platform for current and new terminals, where all value streams are standard, scalable, and replicable from acquisition, to construction, integration and all the way down to running a terminal." Implementing, optimizing and scaling Operations Technology will play a pivotal role in achieving our strategic goals, ranging from initiatives like implementing complex brownfield automation at a fast pace to optimize man‑hours per move or efforts to optimize running‑hours per move by systemized solutions in our maritime terminals.
Principal Accountabilities
* Systems Strategy Development – Drive the development of the information model for APMT’s future Operational system functionalities to help us become the world’s best terminal operator, by identifying the key business information for the information model deliverables.
* Gather and Define Requirements – Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and clarify current and future gaps and subsequent requirements, ensuring alignment on objectives.
* Act as a bridge between business and technical teams to facilitate shared understanding.
* Understand and apply the Maersk data‑modelling tools and technologies to ensure efficiency and accuracy of data‑modelling processes.
* Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories to ensure consistency and integrity of data models.
* Document and communicate business information model designs and standards to ensure understanding and compliance across the organization spanning business and technology teams in a common language.
* Provide inputs to database engineers around data model performance issues to optimize database performance and enhance overall system functionality.
* Facilitate information modelling and event storming workshops with the business and technology teams to drive out the business information models consisting of business objects and related information that underpin our business processes and correlate these to event models and APIs.
* Facilitate stakeholder communication: maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders, gathering feedback, addressing inquiries, and ensuring alignment on progress.
* Stay current with industry best practices and trends in business information modelling and incorporate new techniques and methodologies into our modelling processes.
Critical Qualifications / Skills / Experience
* Strong understanding of business information modelling concepts.
* Proficiency in business information modelling tools.
* Experience in designing and implementing business information model structures.
* Technically skilled in business information administration and governance.
* Ability to create and maintain conceptual and logical business information models.
* Assistance in creating data models where necessary.
* Knowledge of applying industry best practices for information modelling, including ISO, UNCEFACT, Maritime Industry Standards particularly as relates to terminals (TIC4.0), Shipping (SMDG, DSCA) and Manufacturing (ISA‑95).
* Experience with modelling languages like UML and ArchiMate, and understanding of BPMN, EDI.
* Experience and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to gather and analyse information requirements.
* Capability of working on multiple initiatives simultaneously and grasping and understanding new techniques and technologies quickly.
* High discipline – following through on actions and ensuring necessary documentation.
* Creative thinker, with strong analytical skills and a can‑do attitude.
* Driven, pro‑active, self‑motivating, result‑oriented.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Understanding of terminal operations and the terminal operating system (TOS) is preferred.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills in English.
* Education: Engineering degree in computer science, information science, applied mathematics or similar.
