Job overview
To support the administration and delivery of the Plastic Surgery service through typing clinic letters in a timely manner and ensuring letter turn-around times are maintained, supporting the validation of patient pathways and next events to prevent breaches, and working closely with the service’s administrative and clerical teams. Main duties of the job
To work alongside the Patient Pathway Coordinators, other Admin Support and Ward Clerks within or out of the department on a daily basis. To help manage the validation of patient pathways and to ensure the next events (surgical requests, imaging requests, funding requests or referral to another service) are listed and actioned to prevent breaches.
The post holder will play a key role in actively managing the administrative processes of patient pathways and the associated administrative staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service for patients throughout their journey. Also to provide an effective administration service to the multidisciplinary team. The senior patient pathway will be a vital role to ensure the correct validation of patients and forecasting breaches.

Essential criteria
1. •GCSE
2. •A Level or equivalent standard of education
3. •ECDL or equivalent experience e.g.
4. •Typing speed 60 wpm or RSA 2/3 or equivalent
5. •Competence with a range of IT packages, e.g. CRS, G2 and EPR
Experience
Essential criteria
6. •NHS experience as Medical Secretary and medical secretarial/pathway administration experience.
7. •Experience of a range of IT packages such as word, excel, outlook and power point.
Knowledge

8. •A sound knowledge and demonstrable competence regarding 18 week referral to treatment rules
