Assistant Store Manager – School & Workwear Shop
From £28,000 per year + great benefits.
Full-time, permanent.
We’re looking for a confident, organised and people-focused Assistant Store Manager to help run our busy school uniform and workwear shop, and support our embroidery and DTF production areas. This is a brand-new role, so you’ll have the chance to work closely with the directors, shape how we grow, and really make the role your own.
If you love keeping things running smoothly, enjoy supporting a team, and can stay calm when things get lively (especially during back-to-school season!), you’ll be a brilliant fit.
This is a hands‑on role at the heart of our business. You’ll lead and support the team, keep customer service standards high, and make sure daily operations run like clockwork. Your focus will be people leadership, quality, and creating a great experience for customers and staff.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading and supporting the team across retail and production
* Organising daily tasks, managing workflow and keeping us on track
* Helping out and covering at the Trinity School uniform shop when needed
* Building great relationships with customers, schools and local businesses
* Ensuring embroidery and DTF jobs meet our quality standards
* Handling tricky questions or custom requests with confidence
* Looking after stock, supplies and machine upkeep
* Training new starters and helping the team grow and improve
* Keeping the shop and workshop tidy, safe and welcoming
* Managing stock control, merchandising and compliance
* Using store data to spot areas to improve and helping shape new ideas
Who this would suit
* Have experience leading or coordinating a small team in a retail or sales environment
* Enjoy keeping things organised and juggling different priorities
* Feel confident talking to customers, suppliers, schools and businesses
* Stay positive, calm and solution-focused when things get busy
* Take pride in doing things properly and providing great customer service
* Have experience in embroidery/DTF or garment decoration (helpful but not essential)
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone reliable, steady and supportive, someone the team trusts and enjoys working with.
Why join us?
* Starting salary from £28,000, with regular reviews
* Performance-based bonus scheme
* Private Medical Insurance (PMI)
* Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
* Ability to draw down salary early if life throws you a curveball
* Always 4 weeks’ rota in advance — because life needs planning
* A friendly team and supportive directors who value your ideas
* A role at the centre of a growing business, with room to develop
* Training across production, embroidery, DTF printing and wider business operations
* A chance to make a real impact every single day
Recruitment process
* Initial telephone interview
* Final in-person interview
* Ideal start date: January (full training and onboarding provided)
