Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join a successful English department in Staines. The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a passion for inspiring young people through engaging and high-quality English teaching. The role involves delivering lessons primarily to Key Stage 3, with some Key Stage 4 classes, ensuring all students are supported to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Teach predominantly KS3 English, with some KS4 classes leading up to GCSE examinations.
* Assess, record, and report on the progress and attainment of students.
* Take full responsibility for planning, marking, and classroom management.
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters progress and enthusiasm for English.
* Contribute to the wider life of the school, including departmental meetings and enrichment activities.
* Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and student behaviour.
Qualifications & Skills
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
* Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* Ability to plan and deliver lessons that engage and challenge learners of all abilities.
* A commitment to continuous professional development.
* Enthusiasm for contributing to extracurricular English or literacy-based activities.
