Overview
ban Sheriff Court are looking for an Administrative Officer to join them on a full time permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
* To undertake a number of general administrative duties including: Processing and distributing incoming mail to colleagues which comprises of writs, summonses, simplified divorces, enquiries and other documents.
* Creating and updating records on our in-house computer system and data input
* Producing court documents
* Preparing files for court hearings
* General photocopying and filing
* Dealing with numerical calculations
* Accounting for monies in accordance with financial guidelines
* Undertake light portering duties as required
Additionally you
* Will have regular contact with court users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. As such you be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice.
* Will work within a team with regular management support and will be responsible for your own time.
* May be required to provide advice to colleagues and carry out limited supervision of others.
* Will assist with preparing statistical information and other returns to ensure standards of work meet the agreed level.
* Will assist in clearing up of criminal courts by preparing court minutes, issuing letters, ordering reports and filing complaints as necessary.
* Will process and enter fine payments onto computer system and reconcile at month end.
