Overview
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC-One, kindness is at the core of everything you do across Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You’ll help residents with dignity, security and independence and support their families as needed.
Responsibilities
This is a full-time role with day or night shifts (8am – 8pm or 8pm – 8am). You will:
* Lead a team of Care Assistants and be a real influence on the rest of the team.
* Plan and deliver personalised care plans to give residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence.
* Assist residents with activities of daily living, including guidance on use of a walking frame and supporting end-of-life meals.
* Communicate with residents’ families and carers; provide compassionate and kind support.
* Assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager; provide physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities; administer medication where required.
* Maintain accurate records and build strong relationships with the team.
Ideal actions include ensuring high standards of care and maintaining individualised care plans while communicating with residents and co-workers with kindness and professionalism.

Qualifications and experience
* Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Care desirable; progression toward Level 3 or equivalent encouraged.
* Background in person-centered care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
* Excellent record-keeping and time-management; positive energy and ability to get along with people.
* Sufficient safeguarding awareness to recognise concerns and escalate appropriately.

Person specification
Qualifications/Experience/Additional Criteria: S/NVQ or Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care desirable. DBS check required. Safeguarding training appropriate to the role; ability to seek advice and escalate concerns if action is not taken.
