The Team
The Non-US Indirect Tax team is a global team of four professionals dedicated to ensuring compliance with indirect tax regulations outside the United States. The team manages all aspects of non-US indirect tax compliance, including statutory filings, audits, and tax claims. They focus on collaboration, efficiency, inclusivity, and continuous improvement to support S&P Global's business divisions.
About The Role
Grade Level (for internal use): 11
The responsibilities and impact include:
* Supporting VAT compliance outside the US, including filing statutory returns and managing audits.
* Assisting in managing VAT obligations for digital services and international conferences.
* Reviewing reconciliations of indirect tax accounts for accuracy and compliance.
* Coordinating with external providers and internal teams to ensure efficient VAT compliance frameworks.
* Leading the development and implementation of global VAT recovery policies.
* Maintaining indirect tax policies and procedures.
* Ensuring system updates for rate changes and new tax rules.
* Supporting enterprise transformation and tax technology projects.
* Providing guidance on VAT inquiries and conducting risk assessments.
* Managing and mentoring a Transaction Tax Specialist.
What We’re Looking For
Basic Qualifications:
* 6+ years in tax compliance, especially indirect tax.
* Good knowledge of indirect tax laws and regulations.
* Excellent reporting and analytical skills.
* At least 1 year of team management experience.
* Experience working with controllers and finance teams.
* Hybrid role: 2 days/week in UK office.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Oracle and Vertex systems.
* Experience in a SOX-compliant environment.
* Indirect tax advisory experience.
