Overview
The Substance Misuse Liaison nurse will be responsible for the provision of a responsive screening and brief intervention service for acute hospital patients on their alcohol/drug use and, for those that need it, the opportunity to be fast-tracked to appropriate community services. The post holder will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team across a range of addiction services. They will work within a matrix organisation promoting effective inter-disciplinary and inter-agency relationships and acting as a link between clients, professionals and other services to ensure continuity of care. The successful applicant will be required to work in any part of the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust area as needs dictate.
Responsibilities
* Improve the identification and management of patients either harmfully using or dependent upon alcohol or other drug of abuse.
* Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team across a range of addiction services and act as a link between clients, professionals and other services to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
* Degree, Diploma or other nursing qualification allowing registration with the NMC as a registered Nurse on Part 1 or Part 3 of the live NMC register.
* Experience of undertaking Substance misuse assessments utilising various measuring tools scales knowledge of treatment options available for patients with Substance misuse issues.
* Any additional qualifications relating to Substance misuse & Addictions.
Area: Dundonald, ACH Lough House, Addictions, Ulster Hospital, Belfast.
Location may vary across the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust as needs dictate.
Salary £37,338 - £44,962 per annum. Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week.
