Join Our Crew – Intensive Support Workers Wanted

Care Afloat | Waterworks Floating Children's Home

Cruising the canals of the Northwest, Midlands & Wales

We're not your typical children's home — Waterworks is a fully registered therapeutic service onboard a 71' narrowboat, offering a unique and nurturing environment for one young person at a time.

We're looking for two passionate, reliable and caring individuals to join our small team:

* 1 x Full-Time (40 hours/week pro rata)
* 1 x Part-Time (20 hours/week, pro rata)

Shifts can be flexible based on the needs of the home

Salary: £26,832 – £29,577.60 per annum pro rata (plus potential for further £7,200k p/a sleep-in payments)

You'll be part of a close-knit crew supporting a young person with emotional and behavioural needs. From cooking and daily routines to therapeutic activities and canal cruising, every day is different — and every moment matters.

We welcome people from all walks of life. If you're kind, calm, and committed to making a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Experience and qualifications are great but not essential - we'll train and support you

You must be a driver due to the mobile nature of the home.

You'll need to be flexible, resilient, and ready to work as part of a therapeutic team

A sense of humour and a big heart go a long way here

You'll be supported to work towards becoming a Qualified Inland Skipper — a unique opportunity to gain boating skills and be part of the Waterworks crew.

Full training including trauma-informed care and Team Teach

Support to complete the required Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

A truly unique working environment where you can grow and thrive

Competitive pay and sleep-in allowance

We look forward to hearing from you soon.
