Placement will normally be at the first point of the relevant scale, depending on experience and qualifications.

Purpose
This role is suitable for candidates aspiring to develop into a professional grade. Initially, the position will be on a fixed grade basis, progressing annually as competencies are achieved.
This apprenticeship offers a structured pathway to becoming a qualified Building Standards Surveyor, enhancing skills, knowledge, and competence in the field.
The contract will outline duties, responsibilities, and the management and mentoring structure. Progress will be assessed through technical reviews by the Building Standards Management Team and Workplace Mentors, with recommendations to the Head of Infrastructure.
Qualifications and Progression
The starting point is a higher-level school leaver or relevant further education qualification. The goal is to attain a BSc (Hons) in Construction and the Built Environment and complete at least three years of on-the-job training.
