Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Newton Aycliffe
We are working with a primary school that are looking to appoint a temporary Higher Level Teaching Assistant on a term time only basis, working full time.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to enhance the educational experience of all pupils. This role is ideal for someone with strong classroom experience, a proactive attitude, and a passion for helping students thrive academically and personally.
You will take on a range of responsibilities, including planning and delivering learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff, providing targeted support to individuals and small groups, and occasionally covering whole classes. Your work will help ensure continuity of learning and contribute to raising pupil achievement.
The role:
* Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individuals, small groups, or whole classes.
* Lead whole-class lessons in the teacher’s absence.
* Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners.
* Support pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum development.
* Use assessment information to inform planning and support progress.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
