SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 5 Behaviour & ASD Support
Location: Rednal, Birmingham, B45
Weekly Pay: £460 - £500
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Long-term, Temp-to-Perm
Long Term Futures is seeking a patient, adaptable, and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Year 5 class at a welcoming primary school in Rednal. The role will involve working closely with children with ASD and challenging behaviour, helping them access learning, regulate emotions and work towards their individual targets.
This is a long-term placement until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.
What the School is Looking For:
* Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience: At least 1 year supporting pupils with SEN, ideally ASD and behavioural needs.
* Skills: Strong behaviour management strategies, adaptability, and the ability to build positive relationships with children.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with approaches such as Zones of Regulation, visual timetables, Makaton, or restorative practices.
