GSL Education are looking for confident, adaptable, and committed Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Scarborough and the surrounding areas. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with the pre-set work, and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment throughout the school day. Cover Supervisor Responsibilities: Supervise whole classes in the absence of the regular teacher. Deliver and oversee completion of pre-prepared lesson materials. Maintain good behaviour in line with school policies and expectations. Support students in staying focused and on task during lessons. Manage classroom routines and promote a safe and respectful environment. Take attendance and provide clear feedback to teaching staff on progress and behaviour. Deal with any minor issues or disruptions calmly and appropriately. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and wider school teams. Cover Supervisor Requirements: Experience working with young people in settings such as education, youth work, coaching, mentoring, or support roles is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence in managing groups of students and maintaining positive behaviour. Ability to adapt to different subjects, year groups, and classroom settings. A calm, professional, and resilient approach under pressure.
