Construction Tutor - KS4 Alternative Provision

Tradewind Recruitment are pleased to be working with a supportive and specialist Alternative Provision in Wellingborough that is seeking a dedicated Construction Tutor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction industry experience who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them develop practical skills for future careers.
The provision supports Key Stage 4 students who benefit from smaller, more personalised learning environments. The setting focuses on helping students re-engage with education through practical learning, strong relationships and clear pathways into further training or employment.
As a Construction Tutor, you will deliver engaging, hands-on sessions to small groups of up to six students. The aim is to provide students with a strong foundation in basic construction skills while also building their confidence, teamwork and work readiness. You will be supported in every session by a Teaching Assistant, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality practical instruction while ensuring students remain engaged and supported.
This role would suit someone with construction trade experience or previous experience delivering vocational training or teaching in a school, college or training environment. Most importantly, you will have the patience, resilience and enthusiasm needed to support young people who may have faced challenges in mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver practical construction-based learning sessions for KS4 students
Plan engaging, hands-on activities that develop practical skills
Support students in building confidence, independence and teamwork
Work collaboratively with a Teaching Assistant to support behaviour and engagement
Create a safe and supportive learning environment within the workshop or classroom
