Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Regulatory & Compliance Officer to take ownership of regulatory and compliance activities at our Widnes manufacturing site. This is a critical role where you will act as the site's regulatory lead, ensuring products, systems, and processes meet all applicable chemical, customer, and statutory requirements.
While the role supports quality systems (ISO9001, 14001 and 45001), its primary focus is regulatory compliance. You must be confident working independently, making informed decisions, and leading compliance activity in conjunction with the Production Manager. Prior experience in a regulated environment is essential.
This role offers flexibility for hybrid working after successful completion of a 3-month probation period.
Key Responsibilities
· Take ownership of site regulatory compliance systems (EXESS) and documentation
· Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable chemical and product regulations
· Support the site Quality Management System (QMS)
· Manage regulatory documentation including SDS, declarations, and technical data
· Support regulatory submissions and customer compliance requests
· Monitor regulatory changes and implement site actions as required
· Assist internal and external audits and regulatory inspections
· Drive continuous improvement of compliance systems and processes
What We're Looking For
Essential:
· Proven experience in a regulatory or compliance role within a manufacturing or regulated industry
· Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent)
· Understanding of chemical or product regulatory frameworks
· Ability to work independently regulatory lead
· Excellent attention to detail and documentation control
· Strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
· Degree in Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, or related discipline
· Experience in chemical, coatings, or polymer manufacturing
· Knowledge of REACH, CLP, COSHH, PCN and chemical compliance frameworks
· Experience supporting audits and inspections
· Familiarity with regulatory databases and compliance systems (e.g. EXESS)
