Base pay range
Pay up to £52,347 plus 28.97% employer pension contributions, hybrid working, flexible hours, and great work life balance.

We are looking for outstanding Test Engineers to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital, to assist in the design of Infrastructure services in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering principles. We are using fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions used by millions of people in the UK.
Location: One of our digital hubs in Birmingham, London, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient.
Hybrid Working: Hybrid model — some time at home and some time in a hub.
Pay: Up to £52,347 with pension contributions of 28.97% (approx. £12,000 per year).
Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%.
Holidays: 26 days rising to 31 days, with up to 3 extra days per month on flexitime plus public holidays.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
* Demonstrable experience of building and delivering automated tests to cover business requirements using Python and tools such as Pytest, Playwright, or equivalent.
* Design, build and maintain effective tests that validate data quality, movement and transformation; experience with CI/CD integration and a shift-left approach.
* Experience of non-functional testing (e.g., performance testing) with appropriate tools and standards.
* Ability to influence and communicate with other teams; share resources, knowledge and lessons learned.
* Practical experience ensuring usability, accessibility, security, stability and capacity are embedded in citizen services development.
