Overview
Senior Project Manager for Acute Oncology Data – Band 7, 37.5 hours per week. Based at Aintree Hospital with travel to trusts across the Cheshire and Merseyside region. Part of the NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group, supporting transformation projects to improve cancer services and reduce health inequalities.
Responsibilities
* Project management and day-to-day running of one or more large-scale complex transformation projects.
* Set up and planning of the project(s) including project steering groups, project assurance function, project teams, and project documentation using LUHFT programme management documentation and recognised project management methodologies.
* Identify resources to enable project delivery and assure delivery on time and to budget.
* Ensure project reporting adheres to the programme governance framework and communicate effectively to all stakeholders.
* Identify and manage risks; manage change brought about by the project efficiently.
* Provide expert project management advice and support to staff and partner organisations.
* Contribute to the development of the Programme Management Office (PMO) and lead on specific complex projects.
* Maintain knowledge of local, regional and national projects that are current and pending.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Masters Degree or equivalent
* Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2 Practitioner or MSP Foundation) or demonstrated substantial project delivery experience.
Desirable criteria
* ITIL Foundation qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
* Specialist experience managing a series of complex, large inter-related projects or substantial clinical experience for those projects requiring clinical expertise.
* Experience of managing a team and using specialist Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience collaborating with colleagues at all levels including clinicians; adapting to unfamiliar topics and rapid knowledge assimilation.
* Teaching and presentation skills; ability to influence and communicate to diverse groups.
* Experience effecting change in organisations without direct line management responsibility.
* Analyses of non-routine data, interpretation and resolution.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of working in an NHS environment and understanding of information systems to support patient care.
Knowledge

* Specialist knowledge and substantial experience working in a project environment.
Skills
Essential criteria
* Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills; strong oral and written communication.
* Experience handling highly complex, sensitive information with large groups of staff or the public; negotiation and influencing skills.
* Ability to present project management techniques clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences; deliver presentations to large groups.
