The Mental Health division of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust comprises three directorates: Adult Mental Health, Mental Health Services for Older People and Specialist Services. Main duties of the job
* Provide a defined level of specialist assessment and access to interventions for a diverse patient group and their families under the care programme approach, who present with significant mental health conditions.
* Offer a stabilisation outpatient clinic with the potential to prescribe medications to patients who have attended Nottingham University Hospitals and been seen by liaison psychiatry.
* Provide realistic timely, or occasionally intensive support to patients within an acute hospital setting.
* Demonstrate active clinical leadership skills within the team, providing education and supervision to junior staff members and other professionals.

Job responsibilities
* Implement and evaluate safe, creative and effective treatment plans in collaboration with patients, carers and other professionals.
* Ensure all interventions are evidence‑based and designed to reduce stress and anxiety, manage risk and aid recovery.
* Maintain accurate, timely and relevant clinical records, written and computerised, and safeguard healthcare records.
* Apply safe monitoring, management and administration of medication as required by Trust policy.
* Complete relevant assessments and develop individual care plans that are specific to areas of need and evidence‑based.
* Report quality service provision by service users and carers.
* Maintain clinical governance systems and comply with Trust policy and procedures.
* Demonstrate safe practice, including adherence to the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards, guidance and legislation.
* Adhere to child and adult safeguarding policy, guidance and legal frameworks, and make timely safeguarding referrals as required.
* Apply infection prevention and control principles and comply with Trust policy and guidance.
* Interpret physical healthcare observations and support nursing staff around complex cases.
* Safeguard children and vulnerable adults, managing safeguarding responsibilities and making timely referrals.
Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment: £26.40 for a standard DBS or £54.40 for an enhanced DBS. The cost will be deducted from your salary over the first two months of employment.
It is encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service with an annual fee of £16.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Maintain current registration with the NMC.
* Hold a professional clinical qualification plus further specialist knowledge or post‑registration experience to diploma/degree level or equivalent knowledge and skills in mental health underpinned by theory or formal training.
* Have NMP.
* Teaching qualification.
* Experience of NMP in clinical practice.
Experience
* Recent experience working within a liaison psychiatry setting.
* Experience working with adults aged 18–65.
* Demonstrated satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding.
* Minimum of 3 years post‑registration experience.
* Experience working with older adults aged 65+.
* Ability to deal with and resolve conflict.
Skills
* Willingness to continue to develop and complete CPD.
* Evidence of postgraduate CPD.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and qualities.
* High level of emotional intelligence.
Contractual
