The Growth Company's (GC) Employment, Justice and Health team has an exciting opportunity for an Employment and Training Advisor to engage with the Salford community who require employability support due to health and wellbeing, or a desire to upskill. This may include supporting individuals seeking alternative employment or exploring new opportunities to better suit their needs.
We make a lasting difference to the lives of people throughout the Salford by supporting individuals into meaningful employment.
Our highly skilled advisers and key workers support a wide range of individuals, from those recently out of work to people facing complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health and debt.
Key Responsibilities:
* Raise awareness of the service through targeted marketing and outreach activities to increase referrals.
* Work closely and collaboratively with Work Well delivery partners and wider stakeholders to ensure participant support.
* Work to targets by attracting new residents to the service, ensuring quality and appropriate referrals.
* Accurately record all resident details on internal systems, ensuring compliant contractual paperwork and up-to-date records.
* Develop and implement pathways into employment, liaising with training providers, employers, and key internal and external stakeholders.
* Source placement opportunities that may lead to sustainable employment.
* Attend and organise local networking events, recruitment fairs and conferences to promote the programme.
* Develop clear and informative candidates' CVs to promote individuals to employers.
About You:
* Good knowledge of welfare-to-work provision and the customer base.
* Excellent knowledge of the local labour market, recruitment methods and growth industries.
* Knowledge of funded skills provision, including the Adult Education Budget (AEB).
* Understanding of ESOL requirements and associated barriers and challenges.
* Understanding of Health and Wellbeing barriers, including reasonable adjustments and access to work schemes.
* A warm and approachable delivery style, with the ability to build rapport.
* Ability to act as an ambassador for The Growth Company and Salford City Council at all times.
Skills Required:
* Ability to provide robust Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to customers seeking to upskill or secure alternative employment (IAG qualification desirable).
* Strong caseload management skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, promotional and organisational skills, with a professional telephone manner and strong IT capability.
* Ability to work to challenging targets and key performance indicators.
* High attention to detail when obtaining and recording information.
* Well-developed IT skills, including computerised management information systems, spreadsheets, diary management and email.
