Are you a compassionate and motivated Nursing Associate looking to develop your skills in specialist palliative and end of life care?
This is an exciting opportunity to join Barnsley Hospice on a secondment or fixed-term basis and gain valuable experience delivering outstanding, person-centred care to patients with life-limiting illness.
As a Nursing Associate, you will work as part of our skilled nursing workforce, supporting Registered Nurses to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.
You will:
* Work as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) delivering planned care to a defined group of patients
* Provide safe, effective and coordinated clinical and therapeutic care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
* Recognise and elevate changes in patients’ conditions appropriately
* Undertake clinical observations and agreed nursing procedures within your scope of practice
* Support and supervise Healthcare Assistants, volunteers and students as appropriate
* Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring dignity, respect and individual wishes are always upheld
This role offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your clinical skills in symptom management, end of life care, and holistic support within a specialist palliative care setting.
Organisation summary
Barnsley Hospice is a charity that provides specialist palliative and end of life care to hundreds of local people and those close to them each year. Our main priority is to achieve the best possible quality of life for people living with a life-limiting illness, whilst supporting those close to them during the period of illness and bereavement. As a specialist care provider, the range of skills we offer include, pain and symptom management, emotional support and end of life care. The hospice currently employs about 100 people and has a team of volunteers, based both at the hospice and within our Retail Hub.
