Job Title
General Practice Nurse
Direct Medics are currently seeking a General Practice Nurse to work on a permanent basis in a new, forward-thinking private GP Practice. The practice is dedicated to delivering personalised, high-quality care and features a partner laboratory offering same-day diagnostic results and an on-site research & development facility—providing an excellent environment for professional growth and the opportunity to pursue your own clinical interests or research initiatives.
Essential criteria
* Valid NMC registration
* Minimum of 3 years of experience working within general practice
* Demonstrated competence in:
o Phlebotomy
o Performing ECGs
* Strong clinical assessment, attention to detail, and patient-centred communication skills
* Proficiency with healthcare IT systems and accurate record-keeping
Desirable criteria
* Experience in chronic disease management clinics (e.g., diabetes, COPD, cardiovascular disease)
* Training or experience with additional diagnostics (e.g., VO₂ max, BMI, body fat index, exercise testing spirometry, peak flow)
* Familiarity with clinical governance, audit, and continuous quality improvement processes
* Previous private healthcare experience and subspecialty interests (e.g. rheumatology, women's health, sports medicine) would also be desirable.
