HGV Class 1 Driver – West Bromwich
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich, West Midlands.

Shifts
• Thursday to Monday• Afternoon starts between 14:00 and 17:00
Rates of Pay
• £17.20 per hour (basic)• £20.00 per hour after 20:00 (Monday to Saturday)• £22.00 per hour (Sunday)

Day-to-Day Duties
• Carrying out RDC or brewery deliveries (curtain-side, no handball required)• Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections• Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly• Adhering to traffic laws and regulations• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management• Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo as required• Delivering cages to DCs and supermarkets• Completing up to 2 drops per shift
Essential Skills
• Valid UK Category CE driving licence• Minimum of 12 month's experience driving CE vehicles• Valid UK Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card• No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes• Good level of spoken and written English• Punctual with excellent time-keeping• Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations• Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial driving experience• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training Provided
• Driver assessment must be completed before starting
