This is a pivotal leadership role where you will coordinate safeguarding decision-making at the front door of children's services, ensuring timely and effective responses to concerns.As Team Manager, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team, working in close partnership with key agencies including police, health, and education, to protect vulnerable children and young people. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.* Location: Landmark House, Ipswich* Rate: £45.50 per hour* Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2/3 days in the office* Contract Type: Temporary**Key Responsibilities*** Provide strong leadership and supervision to a team of Social Workers and practitioners within the MASH.* Make timely, defensible management decisions in line with the Suffolk Thresholds Document and statutory guidance.* Oversee screening, triage, and risk assessment of all incoming safeguarding referrals.* Ensure high-quality practice standards, with robust recording and clear decision-making.* Drive performance management, ensuring KPIs and service targets are met.* Lead on quality assurance activities, including audits, reflective supervision, and continuous service improvement.* Promote effective multi-agency collaboration, working closely with partners across police, health, education, and other services.* Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and regular supervision, fostering a positive team culture.* Manage complex and high-risk cases, providing oversight and direction where required.* Contribute to the wider service by supporting strategic development and operational improvements within MASH.**Experience/Skills*** Significant experience within MASH or front-door safeguarding services* Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England* Minimum of 3 years' post-qualified social work experience* Proven experience in leading and managing teams, ideally within children's services* Strong working knowledge of safeguarding legislation, thresholds, and statutory frameworks* Excellent decision-making, organisational, and communication skills* Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment**Why Join Suffolk County Council?*** Opportunity to lead within a critical frontline safeguarding service* Collaborative, multi-agency working environment* Competitive hourly rate and flexible hybrid working* Chance to make a real impact on the lives of children and familiesIf you are a passionate and experienced leader looking to make a difference in safeguarding, we would love to hear from you.
