We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Gastroenterologist to join a multidisciplinary medical team in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services, contribute to endoscopy provision, and support service development, teaching, and clinical governance in line with UK best practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consultant-level care for patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions
* Deliver outpatient clinics and inpatient ward consultations
* Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy in line with JAG standards (where applicable)
* Participate in gastrointestinal and hepatology multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings
* Contribute to acute medical and gastroenterology on‑call rotas as required
* Work collaboratively with surgeons, radiology, pathology, nursing, and allied health professionals
* Support service development, audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives
* Supervise, mentor, and teach junior doctors and trainees.
Requirements
* Minimum 3–5 years of experience at consultant or senior specialist level in Gastroenterology
* Medical degree with completed specialist training in Gastroenterology (or GIM with gastroenterology subspecialty)
* GMC registration (preferred) — candidates eligible for or in the process of GMC registration will also be considered
* Experience in endoscopy is desirable; JAG accreditation or eligibility is an advantage
* Strong knowledge of NICE guidance and evidence‑based gastroenterology practice
* Excellent clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills
* Commitment to continuous professional development and high‑quality patient care.
* Willing to relocate in the United Kingdom.
