Manager for Afterschool and Holiday Club
Nurse Seekers is proud to be working on behalf of a quality Afterschool and Holiday Club Childcare provider, which provides wraparound care. They are looking to employ a Manager for one of their excellent settings based in the Christchurch area. The successful candidate will manage the setting and team effectively, ensuring high standards of health & safety, care, development, and play.
This is a unique opportunity as you will work split shifts, allowing for an easy work/personal life balance.
Necessary Requirements
* Hold a level three or equivalent qualification and/or have at least 2 years managerial experience in playwork or a comparable field, and be able to pass Ofsted Suitability Interview.
* Strong leadership skills
* Experience working with children in similar settings
* A passion for early childhood education and development
* Willingness to train and participate in in-house and external training, and to provide feedback and support to colleagues
* Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety standards
* Ability to lead activities for children
* Ability to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards of care
* Professional communication skills with children and parents
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee arrangements for children's collection from the club
* Ensure all children are accounted for, including absentees
* Plan and organize activities in advance, involving staff and children, and keep records of plans
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted EYFS standards, GDPR, health & safety, and other regulations
* Adhere to and promote club policies and EYFS standards, aiming to raise standards
* Monitor and address inappropriate behavior according to policies and law
* Act as the safeguarding lead for the club and report to the designated safeguarding lead
* Lead weekly team meetings and participate in management and training meetings
* Manage EYFS keywork effectively, maintaining positive relationships with families, and keeping records up to date
* Ensure all staff paperwork is current and complete
* Implement training guidance and meet training requirements
