Safety Case Engineer - Hazards (Sizewell C)

Location: Gloucester Business Park (hybrid working arrangements) with travel to project offices in London and Bristol for collaboration.
Employment type: Permanent full-time/part-time.
Employment basis: The role is expected to be full-time; however, we are open to discussing a more flexible or part-time approach where possible.
Salary: From £64,000 dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

Following the success of Hinkley Point C, the Sizewell C Project is a nuclear new build in Suffolk with planning approval and government support. When completed, it will provide reliable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting Britain’s goal of Net Zero by 2050.
We are seeking a Safety Case Engineer to support the construction, commissioning, and operation of new nuclear reactors, tackling complex challenges with innovative solutions.
The Role
* Shape the safety assessment of hazards for Sizewell C, owning the safety case and developing safety cases to reduce risks to ALARP levels.
* Act as the Intelligent Customer, engaging with stakeholders and ensuring safety and compliance standards are met.
* Communicate safety measures to stakeholders, explaining how hazards are mitigated.
* Influence safety standards for next-generation reactors within a world-class nuclear safety framework.
Skills
* Experience with Hazard Safety cases.
* Knowledge of nuclear safety, ideally within the nuclear sector.
* Motivated, independent engineer with strong organizational and communication skills.
* Professional development drive and commitment to continual improvement.
* Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, or related field preferred but not essential.
