Responsibilities: We act as the go-to subject matter expert across infrastructure, supporting complex investigations and guiding infrastructure and application teams. We provide 3rd line support across infrastructure services, including servers, networks, and core platforms. We maintain and support Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring system stability and proactively resolving issues. We carry out regular maintenance and updates across infrastructure components, including switches, firewalls, and cloud-hosted services. We support and troubleshoot core systems and enabling technologies, including access management, proxy services, and business-critical applications. We collaborate with third-party providers, including cloud vendors, building effective working relationships and challenging solutions where appropriate. We translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. We support and mentor 1st and 2nd line engineers, acting as an escalation point for complex issues and knowledge sharing. We contribute to project and improvement work, including infrastructure upgrades and system enhancements. We identify opportunities to improve efficiency, including cost-saving opportunities within cloud environments. We ensure infrastructure is maintained in line with security and organisational standards, supporting business continuity and resilience.
