Job Title: Family Support Worker and Specialist Teacher
Location: Longdon Hall School, Near Lichfield, WS15 4PT
Salary: Up to GBP33,000.00 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Tuesday to Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm
Contract: Permanent, Full time

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Family Support Worker to join our team at Longdon Hall School near Lichfield.
About the role
* The role provides support when families are most vulnerable, requiring social and emotional support skills to assist and promote the best outcomes for the family. The approach remains child-centred, focusing on the needs of the child while providing holistic support to those around them. You will work directly with families, attending contacts at the school and in the community.
* Promote good attendance of pupils to enable effective learning and social-emotional development.
* Support pupils who cannot attend school with academic and personal progress, developing plans for their transition back into school.
* Ensure safeguarding of pupils and young people at all times.
* As a Specialist Teacher, deliver targeted interventions for students facing barriers to learning, including SEMH challenges, to help them re-engage and develop necessary skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Offer emotional and practical support to parents and families in their homes, community, or during family support evenings.
* Build trusting relationships with parents and young people to alleviate social isolation and increase capacity.
* Support pupils in transitioning back into school.
* Develop understanding of local resources, community, and statutory services, and communicate effectively with them for the child's and family's best interests.
* Support Early Help Assessments and implement plans within the school.
