Locum Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
We are seeking to appoint a Full-Time Fixed-Term Locum Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a special interest in facial deformity to join the established and supportive Maxillofacial Department at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including consultants, orthodontists, anaesthetists, and specialist nursing staff, to deliver high-quality care to patients requiring orthognathic and facial deformity surgery. This role will involve active participation in outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, multidisciplinary team meetings, and audit and teaching activities within the department.
The post offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the deformity service at NNUH while gaining valuable experience in a busy tertiary referral centre with a broad case mix. The successful candidate will be supported by experienced colleagues and will be encouraged to engage in service improvement, research, and training initiatives.

Qualifications
* Full GMC and GDC Registration
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register Via; o CCT OMFS (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview)
* Special interest in facial deformity and orthognathic.
* Capable of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Enthusiasm for service development and teaching.
* Ability to anticipate change and show an awareness of where the team sits in the bigger picture.
* Demonstrates understanding and commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
* Previous responsibility for service improvement.
Experience
* High level of clinical experience and competence in OMFS services, including trauma. Ability to manage full spectrum of oral and maxillofacial conditions.
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
* Training and expertise in children's safeguarding
* Experience in research or published papers in area of special interest.
* A commitment to and experience of teaching.
* An interest in developing links with Primary Care.

* Flexible outlook on working hours.
* Must live within a 15-mile radius of the base Trust or 30 minutes travelling time.
* Ability to travel across multi-sites whilst public transport may not be available.
