The Local SEO Manager supports the Senior Digital Performance Manager by leveraging the Google local search landscape and driving activities related to Google products such as Google Business Profile (GBP), review generation, local competitor analysis, and local search performance. The manager implements SEO best practices to maximise discoverability and performance of our websites across organic and paid channels targeting local users, with the ultimate goal of driving lead flow.
Responsibilities
* Deliver priority Local Search projects across Rentokil Initial and its subsidiary brands globally.
* Work across the local search landscape, delivering across both organic and paid search channels to support Rentokil Initial and its subsidiaries in leveraging local search volumes to drive conversions and lead flow.
* Manage and support the Google Business Profile (GBP) profile landscape across Rentokil Initial and its subsidiaries.
* Create, deduplicate, delete, verify and optimally configure GBP profiles for key Rentokil Initial markets, liaising with Google Account Managers, Google Support and local markets.
* Collaborate with the Performance Marketing Team to identify local keywords and support optimisation of Google Post campaigns and content to target these terms.
* Collaborate with local markets to collate required information and manage communication with the markets, Performance Marketing and Digital Account Management teams to ensure progress is tracked.
* Support global roll‑out of review generation in platforms like Embed Social/Podium.
* Drive and support markets with first‑ and third‑party review generation activities across both organic and paid channels, roll‑out GBP reviews on key transactional and paid landing pages to drive conversions and enquiries.
Prerequisites
* Experience working with and optimising Google Business Profile.
* Good understanding and experience of local SEO best practices, including technical audits, on‑page recommendations, and the organic local search ecosystem.
* Understanding of search engine algorithms and their impact on organic performance.
* Knowledge of technical SEO changes (robots.txt optimisation, 301 redirects, hreflang, canonicalisation, schema, etc.).
* Ability to use third‑party audit/search tools such as SEMrush, Screaming Frog, OppHive, Ahrefs.
* Collaborative teamwork with colleagues across the Digital Team, other departments, and globally.
* Experience with enterprise content management systems and web content creation/entry is a plus.
* Up‑to‑date with digital marketing trends & technologies.
* Proficiency in MS Office or Google Apps is essential.
* Strong understanding of Google’s web monitoring and analytics tools (Search Console, AdWords, Analytics, Data Studio, Trends) and ability to use them to develop strategy and analyse performance.
Additional Competencies
* Knowledge and experience in paid search.
* Understanding of the web development cycle and web technologies.
* Experience using WordPress (or similar), paid landing‑page platforms, B2B insight services, or other marketing technology landscapes and platforms.
Qualifications
* Additional European language skills are a plus.
* Undergraduate degree or qualification in Marketing, IT, or a related field.
