Our client is actively recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor for the next phase of a multi-million pound MOD project near Reading. They pride themselves on being professional and approachable and are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to share their drive and passion.
Our client is one of the largest UK Main Contractors and delivers multi-million pound projects. This particular scheme has a contract value of more than £250 million and a duration of 2.5 years. They are a privately owned business operating on a regional basis. This role is available on a hybrid basis, with 3 days on site and 2 days from home.
Candidate
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor you should have well‑rounded general main contracting experience gained through working on a variety of project types, with the ability to work independently with confidence and decisiveness. Candidates should be self‑motivated, proactive with a positive can‑do attitude and experienced as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Managing QS.
Key Duties
* Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team, and help ensure that business targets and KPIs are exceeded.
* Prepare monthly cost/value reports for the area, review results and consider trends with other contract team members.
* Produce commercial reports, review results and consider trends with other contract team members.
* Conduct physical measurements of works and agree on these with the client and subcontractors.
* Agree certification and payment of subcontractor accounts, monitoring such accounts against forecasts.
* Manage sub‑contractors, including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiating, placing orders, and agreeing on accounts and payment.

* Salary: Up to £90,000 with 2 annual salary reviews.
