About the Role
Are you ready to take the lead in exciting electrical power distribution projects? We are looking for a Project Manager to join our SSE North Scotland team. In this role, you will guide small teams in the installation and construction of electrical systems ranging from 11kV to 132kV. Your mission? Deliver safe, profitable, and high-quality networks that not only meet customer needs but also enhance our company’s reputation.
Your Responsibilities
As a Project Manager, you will:
* Report to the Operations Manager and lead multiple project teams, fostering confidence and growth in our Projects Business.
* Provide leadership and support to Project Managers and team members, ensuring a collaborative and motivated environment.
* Prioritize Health and Safety, acting as site supervisor when necessary, and manage contractors effectively.
* Oversee concurrent projects, ensuring diligent task management and effective project delivery.
* Control resources, including materials and labor, for multiple projects.
* Maintain strong commercial awareness and manage project valuations.
* Ensure all company property is well-maintained and serviceable.
* Produce comprehensive project documentation, including as-built records and test results.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* An HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* Strong operational knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
* A site safety passport and/or experience working on CDM sites.
* SSSTS or SMSTS certification (desirable but not essential).
* SSE DNO authorization to receive and cancel PTW (or equivalent).
