Working as part of a small editorial team, the reporter’s main role will be to source, research and write stories about the charity sector for our daily online news bulletin.
Reporting to the news editor, the reporter will also produce other content and provide administrative support for Civil Society Media’s website, three print publications and several live events.
The ideal candidate will have professional experience of working in a fast-paced news room. Above all, we value candidates who are innately talented writers, well organised, fast learners, interested in the UK’s charity sector and keen to work as part of a passionate and creative team.
Day-to-day tasks:
* Write interesting, timely and accurate news stories to a tight deadline for civilsociety.co.uk and our daily lunchtime news bulletin.
* Source and pitch potential news stories through cultivating charity sector contacts and attending in-person and online events.
* Produce in-depth content including analysis pieces, interviews with sector leaders and contribute to occasional podcasts and other multimedia productions.
* Assist with the production of daily news bulletins and maintenance of the website.
* Engage on social media as an individual reporter and on behalf of our titles.
* Assist with commissioning of content for online, as directed by the editor.
* Help to ensure content from our three print magazines is correctly uploaded on time and presented appropriately on the website.
* Contribute to other CSM products and events as required.
