Service Manager – Royal Holloway, University of London
We are looking for an experienced Service Manager or Housekeeping Manager to oversee on‑campus student residences.
The Job
* Title: Service Manager / Housekeeping Manager
* Hours: 40 hrs a week, Monday‑Friday
* Salary: £45,000–£47,600 p.a. DOE plus commission (OTE £3,000–£6,000 p.a.)
* Contract: 1 yr, renewable, based on 135 acres of campus parkland
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a team of 50 cleaners, 2 Site Supervisors, a Deputy Service Manager and 100 seasonal staff during peak conference periods.
* Deliver day‑to‑day cleaning excellence for all residential and communal areas, including hotel‑style service during conferences.
* Manage contract performance, KPIs, budgets and invoice non‑routine work at the appropriate level.
* Use client IT systems, optimise resource planning during busy periods and interpret data to support budget management.
* Act as the first point of contact for the client, providing consultative advice and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Housekeeping Manager or Service Manager in hospitality or the contract cleaning industry.
* Strong communication, organisational and self‑motivated skills.
* Experience working with KPIs, budgets and performance information.
* IT proficiency with client systems and data interpretation.
