Responsibilities:
- Ensuring routines are being followed and run smoothly
- Ensuring new decisions are taken on board and maintained in the room at all times
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed by all staff
- Have a monthly room meeting with your staff
- Being an excellent role model to the other staff in your room
- Manage staff effectively, ensuring room ratios are maintained
- Overseeing the professionalism of all staff/volunteers & students in the setting
- To thoroughly read through and approve staff observations on key children
- Provide a high standard of health & hygiene
- Work in partnership with parents
- Attend staff meetings
- Have a sound knowledge of all children in your room and excellent knowledge of your key children
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children in the early years age group
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Provide individualized care and support to meet the unique needs of each child
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Observe and assess children's development and progress
- Collaborate with parents and families to support children's learning and development
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress, and any incidents or accidents
Requirements:
- Full and relevant qualification
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
