About the SEMH Primary Teacher Role:
As an SEMH Primary Teacher, you will deliver structured and engaging lessons across the primary curriculum while maintaining strong routines and clear boundaries. You will support pupils with SEMH needs using consistent, practical strategies to develop academic foundations, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities as SEMH Primary Teacher:
* Primary Curriculum Delivery: Deliver structured, engaging lessons aligned to pupils' academic and emotional needs across the primary curriculum.
* Classroom Authority: Maintain clear expectations, routines, and a calm, controlled learning environment.
* Behaviour & Emotional Regulation: Apply consistent behaviour strategies that promote accountability, focus, and emotional stability.
* Progress Monitoring: Track academic progress and emotional development accurately and effectively.
* Team Collaboration: Work closely with support staff, senior leaders, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
To succeed as an SEMH Primary Teacher, you will need:
* Proven experience working as a Primary Teacher within SEMH, SEN, or alternative provision settings.
* A strong classroom presence with confident and consistent communication.
* The ability to manage challenging behaviour with firmness, empathy, and structure.
* A resilient, practical, and solution-focused teaching approach.
* An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
