An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in ENT / Plastic Surgery Outpatients with a dynamic group of nurses who thrive on delivering high standards of patient care. We have a sound track record of developing and training nurses to a high standard.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate and further develop excellent clinical skills. You will be expected to deliver nurse led clinics, in either pre operative assessment, aural care or wound management supporting junior staff to learn and develop and partake in the nursing management of the department, working with the Lead Nurse. The role may involve undertaking investigations, administering medication, leading a specialist service working alongside the medical team and nursing colleagues.
Working for our organisation
Applicants will be expected to have a minimum of two years’ experience in a setting within specialist surgery nursing ie ENT / Plastic surgery or pre operative assessment. Developmental opportunities will be offered within the department. The post holder will need to demonstrate sound decision making and leadership skills, in order to manage their own workload and that of junior staff. Applicants are expected to be flexible and adaptable to the requirements of the department and service needs.
We work in a friendly team orientated environment with specific specialist surgery facilities and have sound working relationships with multidisciplinary team members. Services core working hours is am to pm Monday to Friday. Working hours will be per week. An ability to work flexibly is an advantage. The clinics operate Monday to Friday with no bank holidays or night duty. OUH Flexible Working Policy applies
