Applications are invited for a full-time (1 WTE) Interventional Radiology (IR) Consultant to strengthen an established team of 8 Interventional Radiologists. The successful candidate will have completed formal subspecialist fellowship training in Interventional Radiology and will have experience in a full complement of interventional procedures including endovascular aortic, peripheral vascular, embolization, urological and hepatobiliary interventions. UHD is beginning collaboration with Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester regarding a One Dorset Interventional Radiology Service giving an exciting opportunity to work across teams and locations to improve access for patients and reduce waiting times. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria FRCR or equivalent Full registration with GMC and license to practice. Entry on the GMS specialist register via CCST, CESR or European Community. Pre-CCST candidates will be considered if eligible for interview 6 months prior to CCST date (at date of interview) 3 years equivalent IR specialty training or currently in consultant IR position Desirable criteria Additional degrees, diplomas or postgraduate thesis relevant to the specialty (e.g. EBIR) Certificate of education Training in teaching skills Experience Essential criteria Competent in a wide range of vascular and non-vascular Interventional Radiological procedures Ability to apply research outcomes to clinical and surgical problems Ability to teach clinical and operative skills Evidence of a broad training in general radiology and cross-sectional imaging Evidence of additional professional responsibilities at local, regional or national level Desirable criteria Independent competency in EVAR Previous Consultant level experience Demonstration of participation in service improvement and service development/innovation
